Radiator Repair

If your vehicle’s engine is overheating or coolant is leaking, you should take your vehicle to your local radiator repair shop and get it checked ASAP.

A vehicle’s radiator is a part that is usually overlooked. However, it plays a significant role in the functioning of your vehicle and ensures that your engine continues to work efficiently. The radiator is designed to keep the engine from overheating by cooling off your car’s cooling system. If your radiator stops doing its job or breaks down, this can lead to various issues with your vehicle and permanently damage the engine’s parts.

Signs of a Bad or Failing Radiator:

  1. Leaking cooling: The presence of a crack or leak in the radiator can cause coolant to leak under your vehicle. The coolant leaking on to the floor can be red, green, or yellow. Leaky radiators can also cause the engine to overheat if there’s not enough coolant to decrease the high temperatures of the running engine.
  1. Overheating:If your engine starts to overheat, even when idle, it indicates that there is an issue with the radiator and hoses. A failed water pump, faulty thermostat, and low coolant are some other possible reasons why your engine is overheating.
  2. Sludgy, contaminated fluids:Fluid discoloration is another indicator of a bad radiator. Mineral deposits, gunk, and debris can accumulate, clog your radiator, and reduce the flow of fluids.
  3. Bad or crooked water pump:The job of a water pump is to circulate the coolant fluid around the engine and pass the right amount through the radiator. If the water pump is loose or breaks down, it won’t be able to do its job properly and maintain the correct flow rate.
